How ZONESUN Customized an Automatic Perfume Filling and Sealing Machine
From engineering drawings and machine assembly to filling, pump insertion, crimp sealing and complete-line testing for 50 ml perfume bottles.
Developing an automatic perfume packaging machine involves more than selecting a standard filling system. The bottle, spray pump, dip tube, collar and crimping requirements must work together as one complete packaging process.
For this project, the ZONESUN engineering team developed and tested a customized ZS-AFC9B automatic perfume filling and sealing line according to the customer’s 50 ml glass bottles and supplied packaging components.

Complete machine test for 50 ml perfume bottles, including bottle feeding, six-head filling, spray pump insertion and crimp sealing.
Understanding the Customer’s Perfume Packaging Requirements
Before beginning the machine design, the engineering team first reviewed the customer’s bottle samples, spray pumps, collars and expected packaging process. Perfume bottles require careful handling because decorative glass containers can be damaged or scratched if the conveying and positioning structures are not properly adjusted.
Spray pumps also vary in head shape, tube length and feeding behavior. The pump feeding, inserting and crimping structures therefore needed to match the customer’s actual components rather than relying only on standard machine specifications.
The main project requirements included:
- 50 ml decorative glass perfume bottles
- Automatic bottle feeding and conveying
- Six-head perfume filling
- Automatic spray pump sorting and insertion
- Automatic collar crimping and sealing
- A target output of approximately 30 bottles per minute
- Stable operation using the customer’s actual samples
Project objective: Develop a continuous packaging solution that could automatically feed, fill, insert pumps and crimp 50 ml perfume bottles while maintaining stable bottle handling and consistent finished-product appearance.
Engineering Design Based on the Customer’s Samples
After confirming the packaging requirements, the ZONESUN engineering team began developing the machine structure. The bottle dimensions, neck size, spray pump and perfume collar were used as references for designing the bottle guides, pump handling components and crimping tooling.
Engineering drawings helped the team verify the machine layout, component positions and movement sequence before manufacturing. This stage also allowed the filling, pump insertion and crimping stations to be coordinated as one continuous production line.

The engineering review focused not only on whether each individual station could complete its task, but also on whether bottles and packaging components could transfer smoothly between the different stages of production.
- Conveyor and bottle-guide dimensions
- Filling nozzle position and working height
- Spray pump feeding-track dimensions
- Pump pickup, transfer and insertion movement
- Crimping-head dimensions and operating position
- PLC timing between the connected working stations
Machine Manufacturing and Assembly
After the design was reviewed, the project entered the manufacturing and assembly stage. The machine frame, conveyor system, filling module, pump feeding equipment, crimping system and electrical controls were assembled according to the approved machine configuration.
During assembly, technicians checked the alignment of the mechanical components and confirmed that the conveyor, bottle positioning parts and customized tooling were installed correctly before complete-line commissioning.

Separating the design and assembly stages from final testing helps identify mechanical alignment, wiring and control issues before the customer’s bottles and perfume packaging components are introduced to the complete line.
The Customized ZS-AFC9B Perfume Packaging Process
Once the main machine was assembled, each working station was adjusted according to the customer’s samples. The complete packaging process was organized into four connected stages.
Automatic Bottle Feeding
Empty perfume bottles enter the conveyor in a controlled orientation. The conveyor guides and bottle positioning parts are adjusted according to the dimensions of the 50 ml glass bottle to help maintain stable transfer.
Six-Head Perfume Filling
Six synchronized filling nozzles process multiple bottles during each cycle. The filling parameters are adjusted according to the customer’s perfume, required filling quantity and target production speed.
Automatic Pump Insertion
A vibratory bowl sorts and feeds the spray pumps. Customized handling components transfer and insert the pumps into the filled bottles before they enter the sealing station.
Crimp Sealing
The customized crimping system seals the perfume collar around the bottle neck. Correct tooling and positioning help create an even crimp while protecting the decorative bottle surface.

What Was Customized for This Project?
Although the ZS-AFC9B provided the main automation platform, the machine needed to be configured around the customer’s actual packaging components. Standard specifications alone could not determine whether the bottles and spray pumps would operate reliably.
The main customization work included:
- Bottle guides and conveyor positioning for the supplied 50 ml glass bottles
- Filling settings based on the customer’s perfume and required filling quantity
- Spray pump feeding tracks and transfer components matched to the supplied pumps
- Pump insertion positions adjusted according to the bottle neck and dip tube
- Crimping components selected according to the perfume collar and bottle neck
- PLC timing coordinated across bottle feeding, filling, pump insertion and crimp sealing
- Trial runs conducted to evaluate filling consistency, pump placement and finished-bottle appearance
Complete-Line Testing Before Delivery
Machine testing is not simply a demonstration that each motor can run. It verifies whether the bottle, liquid, spray pump and collar can work together as one complete packaging system.
During commissioning, the ZONESUN engineering team checked bottle transfer, nozzle positioning, filling consistency, pump feeding, insertion stability and the finished crimp. Filling parameters, conveyor speed and mechanical positions were then refined where necessary.
For this 50 ml perfume bottle project, the complete line was configured around an output of approximately 30 bottles per minute. This falls within the ZS-AFC9B’s general rated speed of 25–35 bottles per minute.
Actual production speed and filling performance depend on the perfume, filling quantity, bottle dimensions, spray pump structure and sealing requirements. Final performance should always be confirmed using the customer’s actual samples.

Who Is This Perfume Filling and Sealing Machine For?
The ZS-AFC9B is suitable for fragrance manufacturers, cosmetics factories, contract packers and growing perfume brands that want to replace separate manual operations with an integrated packaging process.
It is particularly suitable for projects that require automatic spray pump handling and perfume pump crimping in addition to liquid filling. Depending on the production requirements, the machine can operate as a stand-alone system or connect with bottle unscrambling, labeling, coding, inspection and finished-product collection equipment.
