Description
The ZONESUN ZS-MD910K Automatic Checkweigher & Metal Detection Machine combines dynamic weight inspection, metal detection and automatic rejection in one continuous conveyor system. It is designed for end-of-line quality control where packaged products need to be checked for both weight deviation and metal contamination before entering downstream packing or collection.
Products first pass through the metal-detection tunnel and dynamic weighing section. Items containing detectable ferrous, non-ferrous or stainless-steel contaminants, or products outside the preset weight tolerance, can be removed automatically by the push-rod reject system. Qualified products continue to the next process.
Inspection Process
Product Infeed → Metal Detection → Dynamic Checkweighing → Result Comparison → Automatic Rejection → Qualified Product Output

Important performance note: Metal-detection sensitivity varies with product composition, moisture, salt content, temperature, package material, aperture size and conveyor conditions. Checkweigher accuracy also varies with product weight, package dimensions, conveyor speed, vibration and product spacing.

Checkweigher Touchscreen Control
Operators can set target weight, upper and lower tolerance limits, product recipes and operating parameters while monitoring inspection results in real time.

Metal Detector Controller
The independent touchscreen controller allows adjustment of metal-detection sensitivity and inspection settings for different products. Final sensitivity should be confirmed using actual samples and test pieces.

Metal Detection Tunnel
The inspection tunnel is designed to detect compatible ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless-steel contaminants as products pass through the conveyor. Products with metallic or metallized packaging require separate evaluation because the packaging itself can affect detection.

Dynamic Checkweighing
The weighing conveyor measures each product while it is moving and compares the result with the programmed acceptable range. Products that are underweight or overweight can be rejected automatically.

Automatic Reject System
The push-rod reject mechanism removes products that fail the configured metal or weight inspection criteria while allowing qualified products to continue downstream.

Best-Suited Products
The ZS-MD910K is best suited to individual packaged products that can travel stably on a conveyor and fit within the inspection aperture. Typical examples include cartons, pouches, trays, bottles and other non-metallic packages used in food, daily chemical and general consumer-product lines.
Needs separate evaluation: metallized film, aluminum foil packaging, products with strong electrical conductivity, very unstable or rolling packages, oversized products, highly vibrating production environments and products that cannot maintain consistent spacing.
Checkweigher + Metal Detector: Why Combine Both?
A checkweigher verifies whether each package is within the specified weight range, while a metal detector checks for detectable metal contamination. Combining both functions reduces floor space and allows one inspection point to identify two different quality-control problems before the product moves downstream.
Metal Detector vs X-Ray Inspection
| Inspection Method | Typical Detection | Key Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Metal Detector | Ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless-steel contaminants | Does not inspect non-metal foreign bodies such as glass or stone |
| X-Ray Inspection | Can detect certain dense foreign objects such as metal, glass, stone and some bone | Higher system cost and application-specific detection limits |
If the main concern includes glass, stone, bone or other dense non-metal contaminants, an X-ray inspection system may be more suitable than a standard metal detector.
What Affects Metal Detection Sensitivity?
Detection performance is not determined only by the metal diameter. Product moisture, salt, temperature, package material, detector aperture and conveyor conditions can create a product effect that changes practical sensitivity. For this reason, the listed Fe / Cu / SUS values should be treated as reference values under suitable test conditions.

- Required reject method and reject-bin arrangement
- Available compressed-air supply
- Whether actual product testing is required before production
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the ZS-MD910K check both metal contamination and package weight?
Yes. It combines metal detection and dynamic checkweighing in one conveyor inspection system.
Is Fe 1.0 mm / Cu 1.5 mm / SUS 2.0 mm guaranteed for every product?
No. These are reference sensitivity values under suitable test conditions. Actual sensitivity changes with the product, packaging and inspection aperture.
Can it inspect metallized or aluminum-foil packages?
These packages can strongly affect a conventional metal detector and must be evaluated separately. Depending on the package and contaminant requirement, X-ray inspection may be a better choice.
Can it detect glass or stone?
No. A metal detector is intended for metallic contaminants. For glass, stone or other dense non-metal foreign objects, consider an X-ray inspection system.
Can it reject underweight and overweight products automatically?
Yes. Products outside the programmed weight tolerance can be rejected by the push-rod mechanism.
Can it connect to an existing packaging line?
Yes. Product dimensions, conveyor height, product spacing, line speed and control requirements should be confirmed before production.
